People came out to this game as expected. Pretty sure there was mention of a new decibel record set pre game of 108, and that continued when Reddick notched the first goal of the game, 48 seconds in. On a night where he was up for sale in bobble head form he wasted no time being noticed, gloving a fleeting puck as it planned to escape the blue line. he dropped the puck in front of himself and fired one on net, finding its way past Spokane goaltender James Reid. the place erupted and that would be about the only high point in an early ending night.
Spokane tied it up when Brassart picked off the puck from Shinnimin and skated in on his own and blew it past Owsley.
As dissapointing as it was, it happens. Not very often, but its not like they didnt try. Im sure that everyone feels really bad, including both coaches:
Tri-City coach Jim Hiller knows the atmosphere of the New Year's Eve game won't be replicated in the rescheduled game.
"This is always a special game," he said. "Everybody looks forward to this game, to playing in front of a crowd like that.
"This was a first for me (to have a game postponed). I think that was a first for a lot of people right there. But we just couldn't play. It was not safe." (examiner)
